Monday!

Here it is Sunday nite..
the house is quiet..
and I'm alone with my thoughts..
such happy thoughts..
today was a SUPER day..
My son called to tell me he would not be up for the weekend as we had planned ..
instead he would be joining me for the entire first week of my vacation!
Seems his company is providing surfboards for a photo shoot during Spring Break..

and before I could utter a single word..
he read my mind!
and immediately uttered the dreaded words..
NO MOM!
YOU MAY NOT COME TO THE PHOTO SHOOT!
THE SET IS CLOSED!

can you believe that?
both my sis and my hubs said..
"Since when is a closed site ever stopped you?"
just please don't crash the scene and get arrested!
                            *~*~*~*~*~*
Mardi Gras celebrations have been occurring all along the coastal towns for the past several weeks..
This weekend Pensacola did her thing..
paraded, tossed beads..
without being rained out
It was all about the beads..

My beautiful Niece Lyndee and friend
What does it take to not be buried by the Mardi Gras season?

Growing up, this celebration was cause for us to go to New Orleans..
but, after the good ole drunkX turned to more serious and violent crimes..
we stopped attending..
New Orleans has always been a City of enchantment to me..
especially the Garden District..
enjoy your weekend..
as I type..
once again..Snow is falling..
and this is the view in my mind...o

Please visit Sally for Blue Monday
Drowsy monkey for Mellow Yellow Monday
and Mary for Mosaic Monday..

Love it on a weekend when there is nuthin going on, but mardi gras? Never again. Lost too many brain cells down there in the past!
Did you get the info about the blog to book? I got mine back only a few days after sending it off and I'm very pleased. Again.

  7. I laughed when I read those "dreaded" words and the response from your sis and hubby, because, of course, I can SO relate!

I haven't been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans for many, many years and those are the memories I want to hold on to. My son was there for the first time just recently and fell in love with the city. Why am I not in the least bit surprised?

Can't wait to read the post when you first arrive, I'll hoist a glass of wine in celebration, knowing that my Sister of the Sea, is in the same state with me! Enjoying the sun, the sand and the warmth. Hurry up!

  8. Thanks so much for your comment on my post...it's always nice to meet another winter nursery crasher. :-) I'm telling you...they could charge admission and I'd STILL go! And I think I'm onto something with the tea room concept. ;-)

Should be great getting run your toes through the sand on vacation! I'm definitely a little vitamin D deprived over here.

Happy almost Mardi Gras! I also love NOLA...I'll be there for Jazz Fest the end of April.

  9. I couldn't see most of your pictures! :( I love the beach picture, but right now during spring break I don't like to go out there. I may be intimidated by the young bodies in the bikinis! :)

  10. Hola!

Love those beachy surfboard shots. I almost forgot today was FAT tuesday. Not much goes on over here, but I think I might venture the town and see if anyone is celebrating. Someday I hope to make it to NOLA. Hope you are having a great week and enjoy your time with your son!

welcome to my world of salty sunkissed breezes..
where time is not measured..
linger leisurely..
sift sugary white sand between your toes..
Make and take those wonderful memories..
leaving behind..only your footprints...
