Blue Monday

Memories..Misty water color memories..

Texas Bluebonnets..
Was sorting and scanning old photos and ran across this one.
Yep,that's me,way back then,posing in a field of Bluebonnets!
Taken in 1970, at my cousins place in Waxahatchee, Texas.
My expression is due to allergies..swollen eyes and sneezes..
but I adore  these flowers..the aroma is heavenly!
Now, stroll on over to Smiling Sally's for more Blue Monday postings..

  1. I love your new "look"! Your blue bonnet pictures are beautiful. Can you believe I've been in Texas for two and a half years and have yet to find me any blue bells? Must be the drought.

  2. I've never seen bluebonnets in person, but I'd sure like to stand in a field of them. Your link was defective, but I fixed it for you. I'm wishing you a delightful Blue Monday.

  3. Thanks Sally..
am still learning as I go..
haven't figured out how to transfer the buttons..
but am working on that one too..
    ♥smiles and hugs!

  4. Grandma J..
    if I recall correctly,
the blooms occur in early April..
and they seem to be EVERYWHERE..
    in fields, along the roadways,,
and even when you can't SEE them..
you can smell that heavenly aroma!!

  5. I'm pretty sure it's a rule that if you live in or visit TX you have to have a picture taken in a field of bluebonnets! I've got to find mine!
I hope you'll stop by my Blue Monday; I'm having a giveaway.

  6. This shot of you is great (despite allergies)!! The bluebonnets are gorgeous..., I've never seen a field of them either though.

  7. Isn't it fun to come across the old pictures? My daughter is in Texas and when her boys were young she always tried to get a picture of them in a field of bluebonnets. It never worked. They'd start to wail as soon as she put them down. The best laid plans....Have a wonderful day.

  8. Beautiful Bluebonnets and beautiful young lady, too! Nice post for Blue Monday.

  9. Thanks for the lovely pictures! NOW I know what a bluebonnet looks like. There is a terrific song by Nancy Griffith I think it;s called Blue Bonnet's really pretty.
    Happy Monday! Blessings,C

  10. Okay, I googled that song I just mentioned and it is actually called "Gulf Coast Highway" and you can hear it if you go to:

  11. What a lovely photo of you and the bluebonnets!

  12. Hi Loui,
Thank you for stopping by and saying hello.
It's always nice to meet a fellow blogger.
Actually, we just heard today, for sure, that we're going back to Colorado! We lived in Evergreen, just up the hill from you, for 8 years. Oh how I've missed that gorgeous sunshine, the wildlife, the antiquing and
    a great Conifer weinee!!! lol
    (I hope that's still there)
We thought we'd be going to Colorado Springs, but we'll be staying around the Denver area.
    Colorado here we come!!!
    Thanks again for introducing yourself.
    It's nice to meet you!

  13. Thanks for your informative comment on my cupcake cards. I already print at home, but now that I'm printing photos, I think I need better quality. It was sweet of you to take the time to give me your advice!

  14. Love the old photo! My sister has a picture of her two children, when they were little, sitting in the middle of a field of bluebonnets, when they lived in Texas. It is one of my favorites. The bluebonnets are so pretty! Thanks for sharing!

  15. I always love seeing a field of blue because it's so unusual for us. I'm unfamiliar with the flower but it looks a bit similiar to our Lupins.

  16. Lou... I finally made it here! I read each post with much delight. Your photos are awesome and I loved reading your prose. I will still be sparse in reading blogs. Life is too busy sometimes.

  17. Hi Lou, I have a picture of me somewhere in the Texas Bluebonnets also. When I lived near Houston (between 1988-2000) we'd go to Brenham and Chapel Hill to see the bluebonnets every year. SO neat!!!!

It's been a sad weekend for me since my brother died on Friday. He's better off--but my heart is heavy.

welcome to my world of salty sunkissed breezes..
where time is not measured..
linger leisurely..
sift sugary white sand between your toes..
Make and take those wonderful memories..
leaving behind..only your footprints...
