The Moon..

I see the moon....
Whispering Pines
Seeing this photo reminded me of  an evening ritual..
one that is repeated in most every home,
every night..
Night Sky...
the saying of ones prayer's before turning in for the night.
As a child, i would say :
"I see the moon,
I See the Moon
the moon sees me..
God bless the moon..
By The Light
and God bless me..
Now I lay me down to sleep..
I pray the Lord my soul to keep..
Four posts has my bed..
four Angels at my head..
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John..
Bless the bed I lay upon..
and then began the singular  God blesses..
mommy, daddy,
siblings
extended family..
finally pets..
then the riduculous..
to the mundane.."
then mom would end my prayer with..
come on, you are making others wait to talk to God!!
strange how a picture can trigger obscure memories..
Moon Road
what old memories of yours have surfaced lately?
hugs..
Loui♥

  1. Lovely post! The moon can indeed be a mirror that reflects some of our deep thoughts - it is often a wonderful mellow yellow colour, too!

  3. My grandmother crossed stitched a similar poem/prayer for me when I was a baby. I have it framed and hanging on the wall. I should do a post on it one day - it's beautiful.

  12. When I would spend summers away at camp, I would get so homesick. My mom would always say on the phone "Can you see the moon?" "Yyeeessss" I'd blabber back crying. "Well Honey, that's the same moon I'm looking at". Love the moon fotos especially the first one with the moon behind the pine limb.

  15. On our way home last night, I looked up and saw the beautiful full moon and kicked myself for not having my camera with me. Those pictures are so gorgeous!

Memories just pop into my head for no particular reason and in no particular order and sometimes my husband will say "what in the world made you think of that??" Who knows??

  19. OMGosh! That's the same prayer I used as a child. Wonder if it's a Florida thing!? Your photos are gorgeous, especially the one with the pink sky, and the church.

welcome to my world of salty sunkissed breezes..
where time is not measured..
linger leisurely..
sift sugary white sand between your toes..
Make and take those wonderful memories..
leaving behind..only your footprints...
