News flash!

For those of you wishing for cooler fall-like weather..
Those of you sweltering..
and sweating in slap-you-in-the face humidity in the tropics..
those of you who wish to shoo summer out the door..
and rush autumn in with all her glory..
not to mention activities requiring sweaters..
heavy coats..gloves,scarves and hats..
boots..and socks!
not those fashionable high heeled types worn in L.A...
but galoshes, and mucklucks..
as well as digging out all the cold weather tools..
replacing rakes . water hoses and sprinklers with..
snow blowers and shovels, mittens and scarves..
as well as skis.snow boards...
putting away the shorts and flip flops..
turning on the furnace..
putting the electric blanket back on the bed..
I'm not ready for sleeping with closed windows just yet..
YES! that is snow on the mountains from last nite,,
in Telluride, Colorado!
Enjoy your day...

While I make my annual winter reservations for this,,

  1. Friends heading out your way just after Labor Day, with their 5th wheel...they go every September and always, hopefully, in time for the glorious Aspen leaves.

Of course, they stay awhile and head right back to MO for a month or two, then leave just before the snow arrives here, to spend the winter on SPI!LOL

  2. I'm excited about summer ending! I wouldn't mind if we stayed in the Fall mode until Christmas. Then let it snow for a few day and jump right into spring. Let's stay in 'Spring' mode until July 4th, then warm up a little, have a picnic and jump right into Fall again!

  9. Snow? That looks unbelievable to me as I wait for the temps to hit almost 90 again today. Don't mind the heat, hate the humidity! When you write that you're not ready to sleep with the windows closed, I get VERY jealous. I can't wait for Fall to arrive, just so I can open my windows and let the fresh air in! Oh, and I can't wait to wear t-shirts with my shorts instead of tank tops, lol.

Sounds like you have wonderful plans for the winter!

  10. It's been raining here for days. I can't even count the inches anymore, but more than 8". And so humid! So crisp, dry fall sunshine is so very tempting right now.

  12. We had a teeny tiny hint of Fall this morning. Glorious, but I know we still have a long long way to go.

    Hugs,

welcome to my world of salty sunkissed breezes..
where time is not measured..
linger leisurely..
sift sugary white sand between your toes..
Make and take those wonderful memories..
leaving behind..only your footprints...
