PLEASE NOTE: This is a REPOST!!!
Blogger ate the original!!
I apologize!!!!
Now. on with the PARTY!!!!
"If all the world's a stage,,
and we each must play our part.."
It goes without saying, the same must be done for our Oceans...
each and everyone of them..
When God created the heavens , and the earth,
He needed a little extra something as an anchor for the two..
the Oceans were born..
and as He was creating living breathing creatures to walk the earth..
and winged feathered friends soaring across the skies..
He also was filling the vast oceans depths with colorful critters........
Strangely beautiful creatures...
He also made Adam.. and Eve.. to roam these fruitful gardens..
to bask in the sun..
to swim in the beautiful waters....
the story continues today..tomorrow and hopefully for always..
In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the oceans of the world..
each was presented to us in pristine condition..
We were expected to use, enjoy and protect our natural resources..
Somehow, as populations multiplied,
so did the garbage..
the pollutants..
until we have one heck of a mess..
All is NOT lost..
Through the Environmental Protection Agency,
Laws have been passed..
the Clean Water Act..
(How much do you know about the Clean Water Act already?
To find out, take the Fact or Fiction quiz)
the Clean Air Act..
We practice good stewardship in myriad ways..
beginning at the source of the streams, rivers..
all the way to the Oceans..
Utilizing "Best Management Practices" while logging timber streamside..
preventing soil and nutrient run-off from farms..
not dumping anything intro city sewers except rainwater..
No Ocean dumping of Toxic waste..
Cleaning and rehabilitating Toxic waste sites..
Each of us has a role..
as protector of this God given home..
which truly is the modern day Garden of Eden..
Follow the 3R's.
starting with the major.# 1 rule:
RESPECT!!!
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle..
Wherever you go..
Make memories, and leave only your footprints!
remember:
Please join the party at:
Shellebelle's TikiHut World Ocean Day..
warmest sandy hugs..
laughing smiles too..
Loui♥
Oh my Sister of the Sea, this is beautiful and I know it comes from your ocean-loving heart. Just one of the many reasons I love you so!!
ReplyDeleteAdding RESPECT to the 3 Rs is absolutely perfect, it takes respect to even begin to understand why Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle matter. As far as I'm concerned, we now have 4Rs when we talk about the environment!
I'll never understand how someone can look upon images such as these and without thought throw garbage into their beauty. We've been given such a gift, to be able to walk along a shore, climb a mountain, or soar above the clouds and we must understand that without our concern it could so quickly be gone.
Thank you so much for participating in World Oceans Day! Of course, for folks like us, everyday is ocean day!
Hugs for you and our ocean!

We can all take care of our own 'mess' and what a difference that will make! I love your beautiful photo of the mermaids...ahhh! And footprints in the sand are always welcome! Very good post! Thanks! ♥
ReplyDeleteBeautifully put. I hope, and dream that we have come to our senses soon enough to save our planet.
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine the alternative?

Beautiful post, Lou! Oh I DO wish people would not litter...that's one of my pet peeves!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite eco groups is celebrating Oceans Day at the Monterey Bay aquarium. Members of The 5 Gyres, a non-profit group researching about oceanic debris was also there to educate folks on what's happening to our world's oceans. Check out this video. http://youtu.be/JzjH1rq9VVA

ReplyDeleteHi sweet friend!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to catch up with my blog friends this morning. It seems like forever since I've had time to just sit at the computer and visit, but
now I am and it feels sooooo good!
Gosh, what wonderful photos!
I hope you'll be here on "my" beach soon.
Hugs,
Kat
Well said, Loui! I truly enjoyed reading your post. We can and MUST all work together to leave only footprints in the sand...
